The following images are from a sagittally-sectioned specimen of an E12 rat embryo exposed to tritiated thymidine 2 hours before death. This embryo was embedded in methacrylate. Please observe only the heavily-labeled cells. Methacrylate causes excess background noise, but the heavily-labeled cells still stand out.
