Just as in Figure 47, there is heavy label uptake in peripheral structures: the olfactory nerve, the olfactory epithelium, developing bone, whisker follicles, and other structures in the head. The brain parenchyma is full of unlabeled (postmitotic) neurons that were generated before E16 and are migrating outside their germinal zones to differentiate. No laminar definition is visible in the olfactory peduncle.
