OB-FIG-80

2 hr survival after a 3H-thymidine injection on E18 (anterior coronal)

Figure 80 is an anterior coronal slice through the parenchyma of the main olfactory bulb in the basal forebrain of an E18 embryo 2 hrs after exposure to 3H-thymidine.  Label uptake is heavy in the olfactory NEP and in the surrounding olfactory nerve.  There are a fair amount of proliferating cells in the olfactory SVZ.  The mitral cell layer is well defined between the internal and external plexiform layers.  Heavy label uptake in the olfactory epithelium in superficial and deep locations is very clear.  This slice is posterior to Jacobson’s organ.
