2 hr survival after a 3H-thymidine injection on E18 (posterior coronal)

Figure 81.  A posterior coronal slice through the olfactory peduncle in the same specimen pictured in Figure 80.  There is heavy label uptake in the olfactory NEP and olfactory nerve.  Scattered labeled cells outside the NEP are establishing the SVZ and the rostral migratory stream.  The layers of the MOB are like those in Figure 80, the arrows indicate neuronal migration from the germinal zones into the differentiating layers of the main bulb.  The vomeronasal nerve shows a similar label uptake pattern as the olfactory nerve and is the only part of the AOB with proliferating cells.  The cluster of AOB output neurons is clearly separating the internal and external plexiform layers.
