Figure 97.  A posterior coronal slice through the olfactory peduncle in the same specimen pictured in Figure 96.  There is heavy label uptake in the olfactory NEP and olfactory nerve.  Scattered labeled cells outside the NEP are establishing the SVZ and the rostral migratory stream.  The layers of the MOB are like those in Figure 96.  The cluster of AOB output neurons is clearly separating the internal and external plexiform layers.  The granule cell layer is becoming well defined; and many labeled cells in the olfactory SVZ may be granule cell precursors.
